Our mission

LightGames is a free web platform of Accessible Games designed for Eye-gaze and Eye-tracking, also playable with touch and mouse. We focus on simple, Easy Games that deliver instant audio-visual feedback after every interaction — ideal for girls with Rett Syndrome and similar profiles.

Our goal is to make Free Games that feel delightful: clean design, smooth animation, and bright sound — without distractions or complex UI. One action = one response, always.

How it works

  • One-click / dwell play: simple cause-and-effect mechanics optimized for short attention.
  • Inputs: Eye-gaze/Eye-tracking, touch, and mouse — no double clicks.
  • Instant feedback: sound + light + soft animations for every success.
  • Performance: small downloads (≈2–3 MB per game), full preloading before start.
  • Offline-friendly: a shared Service Worker can cache common assets for fast reloads.
  • Audio: Web Audio API with gentle percussion and a few real instrument samples.

Categories & Tags

To make discovery easier, games are grouped in five logical categories and can include secondary tags. Categories act as the main filter; tags provide a second, finer filter across categories.

Sensory

Cause-and-effect scenes. Look, tap, or hover to trigger colors, sparkles, and sounds.

Explore

Free exploration. Move around and discover gentle reactions and animated elements.

Target

Practice accuracy. Aim and hit simple targets to build precision and timing.

Choose

Make a choice. Pick between options (e.g., favorite sound or character) and enjoy feedback.

Control

Continuous movement. Guide an object smoothly with gaze or touch.

Tags (secondary filters)

Tags help you find specific styles across categories — for example: Music, Scenes, Relax, No-timer, High-stim. We start simple and expand over time based on your feedback.

Go to the Home to browse all games and filter by category or tag.

Design principles

  • Clarity first: clean visuals, rounded typography, AA contrast.
  • Comfort: smooth motion, gentle sounds, no overload.
  • Consistency: familiar interactions across all games.
  • Reliability: preload everything — the first click always works.
  • Scalability: modular games; easy to add levels and variants.
  • Privacy by default: no non-essential cookies, no analytics.

Accessibility

We aim for WCAG AA contrast and a simple interaction model that works with Eye-gaze, Eye-tracking, touch, and mouse. We also provide a configurable dwell time at code level and avoid double clicks.

  • Clear focus states and large targets.
  • Instant feedback (sound + light + soft animation) after every valid action.
  • Minimal UI on screen during play: the game canvas, the LightGames logo, and a score if needed.

Note: We don’t use non-essential cookies. For questions or accessibility feedback, please use the form linked on the Contact page.
